28 August 2015 - Update on Hacking Activities
We regret to inform that the server has been unstable and we are working to rectify it now. This is due to the
activities of hackers and spammers that has targeted our servers to exploit our resources.
The main cause of the issue is weak passwords of WordPress sites which most of the accounts in our server uses.
Below are some recommendations of plugins you can use to prevent the recurrence of the instability of the server.
Cache plugin - to speed up your WordPress site
http://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/
or
http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/
Custom wp-admin url plugin - hackers prevention
http://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/
or
http://wordpress.org/plugins/hc-custom-wp-admin-url/
Captcha plugin - control comment spamming
http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-recaptcha/
or
http://wordpress.org/plugins/gab-captcha-2/
We therefore reserve the rights to suspend any accounts that has been compromised to prevent the server from
becoming unstable or inaccessible. We are forced to do this to protect the rest of the accounts (which have installed
and taken preventive steps) from being affected as well.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Regards,
Asia Internet Hosting Administrator
28 June 2015 - Removal of Fantastico De luxe from cPanel.
Please be informed that Fantastico De luxe has been removed from AsiaInternetHosting.com's server as it is an old
version and is not compatible with the latest versions of Wordpress.
We have replaced it with Softaculous which served the same purpose and has more features.
13 January 2015 - Revslider Plugin Exploit in Wordpress.
We have found malicious files on our server and also how it was placed there by hackers.
It appears that the malicious files were put in place via an exploit in Wordpress. Specifically, the most likely exploited
aspect was the revslider plugin in the Avada theme. We have been seeing many occurrences of out-of-date revslider
plugins being exploited. The developers of the themes are aware of this and have provided a list of current themes that
are secure:
http://marketblog.envato.com/news/affected-themes/#secure
As you can see, the Avada theme is on the list of secured themes. Wordpress itself should be updated to the latest
version and the theme should be updated as well, as soon as possible. If these are not updated, an infection will only
happen again.
Please update your Wordpress version and theme immediately and we reserve the right to suspend any accounts that
has been compromised to prevent the server from becoming unstable or inaccessible. We are forced to do this to protect
the rest of the accounts (which have updated and taken preventive steps) from being affected as well.
11 November 2014 - FrontPage Extensions No Longer Available
Due to the latest version of cPanel's incompatibility with FrontPage Extensions, we have removed the FrontPage
Extensions feature from our server.
